As summer travel season begins, Berkeley Lab’s IT Division encourages employees to install the new NinjaOne device management agent before heading out on vacation if they have not already done so. Taking a few minutes now to install the platform can help ensure your computer remains secure, counted in the annual device inventory , and ready to use when you return and help avoid unexpected issues or delays that can interrupt your work.
To improve manageability and security across the Lab’s computing environment, Berkeley Lab is well into its implementation of NinjaOne, a modern and flexible platform designed to streamline how computers and mobile devices are configured and managed. NinjaOne is on track to replace both BigFix and Jamf management systems, unifying management for Windows, macOS, iOS, and, in an upcoming phase, Linux and Android devices into a single system.
NinjaOne helps Berkeley Lab securely manage and maintain both on-site and remote devices by streamlining software deployment, inventory management, and critical security updates while ensuring systems remain up-to-date with Lab standards. Installing the software before vacation can help LBL IT Support Services identify hardware and software issues, , outdated software, and important security patches upon return. By installing NinjaOne before leaving for vacation, employees can help ensure their devices remain secure, supported, and ready for a smooth return to work.
