
Katherine Klymko has been recognized as part of the UC Womxn Rock IT 2026 campaign, an annual initiative led by the UC Womxn in Technology (WIT) Committee to celebrate the outstanding contributions of women advancing innovation, leadership, and inclusive excellence across the UC system.
This year’s honorees represent a diverse range of expertise—from cybersecurity and infrastructure to research computing and emerging technologies—and are recognized not only for delivering impactful work, but also for their commitment to collaboration, mentorship, and community-building.
Klymko, a Quantum Computing Advisor at NERSC, is recognized for her pioneering work at the intersection of quantum computing and high-performance computing. Since 2021, she has focused on integrating quantum technologies into future HPC workloads, helping to shape how emerging hardware can accelerate scientific discovery. Her research explores how quantum systems can enable new algorithms and advance complex computations in fields such as biology, chemistry, and materials science.
Through her leadership and vision, Klymko exemplifies the innovation and impact celebrated by the UC Womxn Rock IT program.
