Effective 5/20/2024, the Lab will move to the new Avaya Messaging voicemail.
Avaya Messaging is a communications system that gives users a high level of call management capability and great flexibility in accessing their messages. Use the links below to access voicemail online and view user guides.
- Web Access portal – Manage your voicemail messages and settings online.
- Find Me – Define rules to have calls find you where and when you are available.
- Get voice mail messages sent to your Gmail one of two ways
- Gmail Only – NEW! Voicemail message is sent to your Gmail, and the original message is deleted from Avaya Messaging. This disables the message waiting indicator light on your desk phone and Avaya Workplace Soft Phone Application.
- Gmail with Message Waiting Indicator – Voicemail message is sent to your Gmail, and the original message is kept in Avaya Messaging. Your message waiting indicator light remains on until you listen to or act on all new messages by logging into your voicemail by telephone or the web.
You don’t have to do anything for the new voicemail to begin taking messages on May 20th. However, starting on May 6th, 2024 you may access the new voicemail system ahead of time to complete the initial voicemail box setup. This allows you to personalize your Greeting and Name in your own voice. A setup wizard will walk you through the needed steps.
How to set up your Avaya Messaging mailbox (early access starts 5/6/2024):
- Dial 510-495-8950 from an outside phone number, or x8950 from a Lab number.
- Enter your 4-digit mailbox number if prompted.
- Enter the temporary Password if prompted (email TSC@lbl.gov for password).
- Enter a new Password (minimum 4 digits in length, without repeating or sequential digits).
- Enter the new Password again to confirm.
- Record your Greeting and your Name when prompted, or use the ones created by the system.
