October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, and we’re starting this month off strong with a new monthly podcast on cyber security topics called “Cyber Supplements“. Hosted by the Berkeley Lab IT Cyber Security Team, these sessions are intended to promote awareness and understanding on cyber security topics specifically looking at what is affecting the Berkeley Lab community.
In this first episode of Cyber Supplements, Jay Krous and Gabe McGinnis from the IT Cyber Security team discuss weak passwords, such as temporary passwords and their potential impact on science and operations at Berkeley Lab. In the episode, they review different weak passwords examples and break down the reasons why you shouldn’t use them, breaking down why they are not the best passwords to use at the Lab.
