Berkeley Lab IT makes it simple to get new, repurposed, and loaner computer systems quickly and easily. We provide the lowest-cost and highest-quality services available, based on Lab-Standard hardware and software, automated management systems, and many years of experience.

- New laptop, desktop, or iPad from one of IT’s Lab-standard models
- Request a Refresh of a current system
- Request a Repurpose system
- Request a Loaner system
This form is used to order a new workstation based on a custom specification.
Note: IT charges $100/hr for time spent selecting and procuring hardware.

Note that some Science Divisions have internal IT groups who provide workstations. Members of these divisions should follow internal IT processes to request new workstations.
- ESnet: To purchase a new computer, go to the ESnet Service Portal, click the Business tab, and choose Purchase Now.
- CRD: To purchase a new computer, monitor or peripherals, go to the CRD procurement portal and submit a procurement request.
- NERSC: To purchase a new computer, contact your division administrators at nersc-admin@lbl.gov.
