Microsoft recently reported Windows Updates have been causing BSOD on numbers of Windows 10 computers. The related updates are: KB5000802, KB5000808, KB5000809, and KB5000822 and are related to Kyocera and Ricoh printing drivers.
The BSOD looks like this:
Observe the bottom of the BSOD and make sure you see the following:
- Stop code: APC_INDEX_MISMATCH
- What failed: win32kfull.sys
Microsoft has released a procedure to fix this issue:
- Restart the computer and log back in
- To restart the computer from a BSOD, just power off the computer and power it back on again using the power button
- Do not start using the computer right away
- Run Windows Update (here is a guide on how to run Windows Update)
- Do not use the computer during this time
- Restart the computer when prompted by Windows Update and the issue should be resolved
If this does not address your issue, please submit a ticket to help@lbl.gov with a screenshot of the BSOD or begin a chat session with our support team.
